Ear Infection

Ear Infection | Central Texas ENT Associates

Having to cope with an ear infection is something we never wish for. It is essential though, to understand the symptoms caused by this prevalent disorder and the possible therapy choices that exist.

Symptoms & Causes

If you experience an earache, troulbed or distorted hearing, high body temperature, or the draining of liquid/puss from the ear - then you could have an ear infection. If the symptoms are unbearable then it is essential for you to contact your primary care physician and an Ear, Nose, & Throat doctor

Diagnosis & Treatment

Depending on how serious your pain is and the growth of the infection, your physician may advise one of various distinct treatment alternatives. Moderate symptoms can heal unaided without requiring antibotics or other forms of treatment. Inexpesnsive therapy options your physician could recommend are a warm compress and gargling salt water. Your doctor may also write you a prescription for over-the-counter medications such as ear drops to releive pain or weigh the option of antibotics.
